High Street Retailers Improving Online Usability

Leading high street retails have improved their website usability from 57% last year to an impressive 68% this year. These figures were recently published in an annual report by the Webcredible, those who appear to be doing particularly well include WHSmith, who are now joint third with a score of 83%, a dramatic 33% increase from last year’s study. Other areas that have also shown improvements include delivery costs, checkout procedures and error pages.

WHSmith usability success is shared with Hamleys that has also jumped to third place from its 15th place last year, the Early Learning Centre roles from eight to second. These retailers have instigated a much needed market improvement. Good usability is a critical part to all websites sales generation and one that is still undervalued.
